Is this some sort of religion or sect?
No way! The 2kTenCom are meant to be a meme, an occult message of hope and liberation for this new millennium. You can do whatever you want with them, even sticking them in the toilet (which I actually recommend to do, that’s quite and introspective location! 🙂 ).

Who are you?
I’m Barabeke, an obscure Italian artist. More about me on barabeke.it or on my social media (@barabeke everywhere).

Does “Barabeke” have some special meaning?
Yes, it means “bogeyman” in venetian dialect. That’s how my dad often called me when I was a kid. I don’t think anyone is using this word anymore, I haven’t heard it in decades at least. It’s dead language.

Where do these 10 Commandments come from?
They have been found at the end of the rabbit hole in my Voyage at the Centre of the Universe: a Fractal Odyssey, a mysterious visual journey inside a fractal that took place on instagram.

Why are you doing it?
Imagine that one day a voice inside of you dictates you ten commandments. What are you going to do with them? I guess most people would keep it quiet for fear of prejudice, some on the other hand may get a massive ego boost from it, start to act like they are the new messiah and end up in some mental institution.

In my case, I am familiar with spiritual manifestations and I’ve spent the past 10 years trying to understand how it’s best to channel them. I tend to keep this stuff quiet, or hide it in my visual works, but in this case I thought it was good to share, even if I am aware it can ruin my reputation.

A side of me is a healer. At some point I realized that no matter how much effort a healer can put the source of the problem tends to remain. It’s the society we are in, its materialistic values, and the negative messages we are constantly bombarded with that degrades the beauty in us, affects the quality of our relations, and ultimately leads to sickness.

My conclusion was that in order to heal people we must create a more human world, like the one described in commandments 6, 7, and 8. Today it is technically possible to build that world, the most we need to do is to get away from Profit as humanity’s only horizon. We have a powerful tool to achieve it: democracy. The time is ripe to radically change the system as the destiny of human work is to be decimated by the end of this century due to my beloved AI. Either we change our economic system and introduce unconditional basic income, for all, as birth right or either we are going to face a very troubled century.

These 2kTenCom are just a drop in the ocean compared to most messages we get from media, which tend to tease our lower instincts with sensation and gossip, make all sort of horrors be part of our daily life (rarely the good things, which are many more), and ultimately stimulate a culture of fear and hate rooted in hypocrisy and spread with hysteria. In these times of increasing negativity and madness my 2KTenCom are positive message that hopefully will inspire people to believe that building a better world is today possible because technically at our reach.

How do the 2kTenCom relate to the 10 Commandments in the Bible?
In shape, as a cultural meme, but also in substance as they contain them (although the commandments promoting fear of an almighty, authoritarian, and revengeful God inspired by the figure of the Pharaoh have been dropped).

Do you represent any organization or institution?
Once again: NO. I only represent myself, Barabeke, and my artistic mission.

Are you looking for followers?
Not in a biblical sense 🙂 In case you mean on social media… yes, why not! I’m on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Medium, and now also snapchat as @barabeke.

Do you make money out of it?
Not even a penny, and I like to keep it .org style (even if it’s a .com site, that was just perfect for the name…). I even offer free spititual consultation to my followers on Instagram, which should suggest that I am not a seeker of money (although to support myself I help entrepreneurs being successful, I can’t live out of art and generosity!). My mission as an artist is to inspire you, provoke your thought, anticipate times, and hopefully contribute to bring back some compassion and forgiveness to this world.

I didn’t get the 9th Commandment: “Build a universe inside a machine”
That’s a controversial one in our days, I don’t expect anyone to believe in it. And yet, it’s one of the most important for our future. Take it as a quirky element that adds to the mystery 🙂

Why did you use a masked Mona Lisa to present the 2kTenCom? What does she represent?
Leonardo da Vinci is my favourite artist along with Bosch and Dalì. I can connect a lot with him, more than any other artist, for reasons that start from the cradle. Some time ago I mixed his Mona Lisa with one of my fractal ghosts and called it “the mask of Leonardo”, which is what you saw. Mona Lisa represents for me an archetype of the female divine, more of a mighty goddess one and trine than a real person. It was still based on a real person though, but this person is not Lisa del Giocondo aka Lisa Gherardini as pretty much everyone believes today. I made some important revelations on Leonardo and Mona Lisa, which so far stood the debate with experts. It’s a work of intuition and research, grounded on historical and visual evidence. You are very welcome to challenge my theory.

Mona Lisa has appeared in different forms in several of my creations, you can see them via the insta hashtag #bbkmonalisa.

  1. In awe. Thank you for trusting your gut, baring your soul, your vision for our future, and taking action to make it come alive. Fractal love from MA.

    • Thank you Monika I truly appreciate your comment, you have no idea of how much prejudice I am attracting and how many people just stopped talking to me… on the other hand other people got closer to me and I attracted new meaningful ones. I am learning a lot from it, and I am grateful to people like you who take their time to show their appreciation!
